Colours

Hand dyed colours may have slight variations from batch to batch. This is part of the beauty and uniqueness of the garment. Please note, every computer monitor shows colour slightly differently.

A note about hand dying: Hand dying is both art and science. Though I strive for consistency between batches, there are many variables involved and any and all of them can slightly change the results. The roll of fabric, the batch of dye, the water (this is a big one! Water is not a stagnant thing; it changes. And small changes in water can affect how the dye reacts with the fabric). Even--and perhaps especially--the human doing the dying. (I am not a machine!) All of these things can change the results from batch to batch.

What does this mean? In a nutshell, colours may have slight variations between batches. Sometimes colours come out slightly darker or lighter. Sometimes the colour is perfectly smooth and even, sometimes it's more mottled and uneven. These are not flaws. This is part of the beauty and uniqueness of the garment. If absolute consistency is paramount to you, you'll be better off sticking with one of the mill dyed colours (black, cinnamon, pale teal, rosewood, or natural, which is undyed). But if you enjoy embracing the inexact and slightly whimsical nature of hand dying, choose one of the hand dyed colours!
